Welcome Wednesdays – One-Liners
Welcome to this week’s edition of Welcome Wednesdays!
This morning I’m asking all you authors to share your favorite sentence or two from one of your books. It can be funny, it can be emotional, it can be a single exquisitely-crafted sentence that captures the essence of one of your characters – anything you like!
I’ll begin. This one is from DREAM STUDENT, and it’s one of my favorite lines from any of the books. Sara has just woken up with the mother of all hangovers:
“I need aspirin. And then I need to vomit. And then I need to die. That might be the wrong order.”
And now it’s your turn! Be sure to tell us a little about the book, and set up your sentence (if necessary). Also be sure to include a link so we can find your book!
(and when you’re done here, please stop by Exquisite Quills, where there are daily memes just like this one and plenty of fantastic authors you can discover!)

“The days rolled into weeks, months, and then years, and here they were, just the two of them, at home with Sara’s Alzheimer’s.” From Blue Hydrangeas, an Alzheimer’s love story, by Marianne Sciucco
I think this captures the reality of living with a spouse with Alzheimer’s.

That does seem to sum it up Marianne.
Thanks Jim!

“I see fear in a handful of dust.” So said T.S. Eliot, who was stricken with high anxiety, but was still able to be a successful poet. FEAR LAND is my new suspense novel about the many shades of trauma. http://amzn.com/B012JE75ES Thanks for having me, Jim!
Happy Wednesday, James. It’s good to stop by.
Here is a favorite bit of from The First Ladies Club: http://tinyurl.com/pj365j4
…, Scott came into the kitchen and wrapped his arms around (his wife), taking solace and
drawing strength from the physical contact.
“What’s the matter, Scott?” she pulled back, looking
with concern into his eyes.
“Nothing, really. I just missed you today. Guess I’ve
been dipping my toes into the slough of despond. You are my
restful arbor, my love.”
Hello,
Thanks for letting us all share. Here is one of my favorite lines from Marked. Damian is speaking to Aimee, and says
“I’m not trying to fix you. I don’t think you’re broken”.

Thanks for graciously sharing your blog. This is from Death of an Idiot Boss. Free with Kindle Unlimited.
“The photo shoot is Wednesday,” Winston said. “Once the agency comes back with costs, I’ll need you to fill in the blanks.”
The only blank I wanted to fill in was the space where his brain should have been.

Thanks for letting us share one liners, Jim. This was hard to do, I must admit. This is a line from my suspense novella, ANGELS CRY — http://amzn.com/B00HLRWREC
“No, he’s not a pretty boy. He’s just pretty. Too pretty.”
It’s not Wednesday anymore. Can I still post? Just found this!
This is from my WIP, Heartsick:
“It’s about the heart.” He slammed his fist against his chest. “You can follow all of the rules, and still end up with a guy like me, because, deep down, your heart is as sick as the rest of us. Whereas, I can break all of the rules and suffer, but be given a second chance with a girl like you, because, inside of me, I want to be healed.”
