Calling herself a Mongrel Christian Mathematician, Sheila Deeth is an English American, Catholic Protestant, mathematician writer, filled with contradictions and dreams. She has a masters degree in mathematics from Cambridge University England, and her books, ebooks and short stories have been published by Cape Arago Press, Gypsy Shadow Publishing, Second Wind Publishing, and Stonegarden.net.

The Five-Minute Bible Story^TM Series

Remember all those old familiar Bible stories? Noah builds an ark. Babylonians build a tower. Moses builds stone tablets then drops them and breaks them after God’s written out the Ten Commandments… Well, something like that…? But what about all the unsung, unnoticed characters woven through those pages? What about the ordinary everyday people living ordinary everyday lives? Turning Bible stories into snapshots of a world gone by, dreaming how it might have been, and feeding those dreams with the best I could find of historical, scientific and archeological research, I started writing five-minute read-aloud stories for kids, now published as the Five-Minute Bible Story^TM Series by Cape Arago Press.

 

So here are some of the people you might meet if you read these tales.

 

Genesis People:  “There’s this old man, got two grown-up sons already, and suddenly his servant’s here asking if I’m willing to be his next wife. I mean, come on, what’s he need a new wife for? But he’s rich—got tons of sheep and goats—and, well, it’s time to move on. So we’re getting married tomorrow, me and old Abraham. Do you know my name?”
